Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you based?
I am a fully mobile business - so I will come to you! Check out my main areas of service here.
I cover a 15-mile radius of Bath, Somerset. However, I am willing to travel further for multiple animal bookings or special requests.
How long do sessions take?
Initial appointments generally take 1.5-2 hours as I allow a lot of extra time to allow your pet to get to know me and to find out more about their history before starting the assessment. Follow-up sessions usually last approximately 1 hour.
How long will my pet need to have physiotherapy?
Every animal is different, so there is no real 'one size fits all' answer. The frequency of sessions will depend on your pet's current pain levels, mobility, response to treatment, and their short/long-term treatment goals. Generally, when starting physiotherapy I recommend more frequent sessions (e.g. every 1-2 weeks) once they are responding well and making progress these sessions are usually phased out to maintenance checks (for most owner's this is every 1-3 months).
My pet hates the vets or can be nervous at times, is this a problem?
I have experience in working with a lot of nervous, scared, or reactive dogs. I always take my time getting to know my patients and trying out different methods to ensure they are comfortable, relaxed, and getting the most out of their sessions. Sometimes with more nervous pets, this will take more than one session. If your dog usually has to wear a muzzle whilst out and about or at the vet's it is likely that I will require your pet to wear one during treatments (this may be something that can be changed once they get to know me better).
Can I claim the cost of sessions on my insurance?
This depends on your provider and policy, but a lot of insurance companies do cover physiotherapy treatment. I always advise new clients to check with their provider directly prior to treatment.
I have more questions...
Contact me! I will never charge you for a phone call to discuss you and your pet's needs. There is no obligation for you to book an appointment afterwards, but you will at least know your options and what my services may be able to offer.
